The periodicity of the scientific publication is 1 time per quarter, i.e. four times a year. The timeliness of the scientific publication is strictly observed.

The editorial policy of the journal was approved by the decision of the Editorial Board of the journal «Bulletin of the Karaganda university. Law series» (Protocol №2 from 12.03.2020).

 

Targets and goals

The aim of the publishing house is to publish of  scientific works in Kazakh, Russian and English on relevant issues of fundamental and applied research in the sphere of legal science:

In each issue of the Law series, scientific works on topical issues of fundamental and applied research in the sphere of legal science are published: philosophy of law, theory and history of state and law, history of political and legal doctrines, international public and private law, comparative law, constitutional law, administrative law and public administration, civil law and process, labor law, environmental law, criminal law and criminology, criminal procedure and forensic science, problems of other branches of law.

The publishing strategy of the editorial board of the journal is aimed at implementing the following tasks:

- ensuring a high scientific level of the journal and its promotion in the international scientific community;

- an increase in future publication in English;

- expanding the geography of publications and readership;

- Strengthening scientific ties between Kazakhstani and foreign scientists;

- an increase in the scientific citation index and impact factor of the journal.

 

The journal does not publish:

- materials that do not correspond to the subject of the magazine;

- materials published by authors earlier in other publications;

- materials containing spelling or other errors that cannot be corrected, as well as statements and hypotheses that directly contradict established scientific fact;

- materials containing artificially generated text.

 

The editorial policy of the journal is based on the following principles:
- Objectivity and impartiality in the selection of articles for publication;
- High standards for the quality of scientific research;
- Collegial decision-making regarding the publication of articles;
- Accessibility and prompt communication with authors;
- Strict adherence to copyright laws;
- Strict adherence to the journal's publication schedule;
- Academic integrity;
- Only one article per author may be published in a single issue of the journal.

Article review process:

A scientific article is submitted by the author through the online submission system after registering on the official website of the journal.

The manuscript of the scientific article received by the editorial office undergoes an initial review to ensure it aligns with the journal's scope, editorial requirements, and formatting rules. At this stage, the article (the entire file, including all bibliographic information, abstracts and keywords in three languages, reference lists, and author information) is also checked for borrowed content using the “Antiplagiat.ru” system. If any issues are identified concerning the topic, formatting, or originality, the article is returned to the authors without peer review, and the author receives an appropriate notification.

An article that meets the journal’s scope and publication requirements is accepted for consideration and sent for peer review.

Double-blind peer review:

All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo double-blind peer review. Two reviewers, one of whom is an international expert with experience in the relevant field, evaluate the research.

 

Ethics and Plagiarism policy:

The journal adheres to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing ethical issues, including misconduct and retractions. In accordance with the journal’s policy, all articles submitted to the editorial office are mandatorily checked at the initial submission stage for proper citation using the website https://ksu.kz.antiplagiat.com.

Scientific articles submitted for publication in scholarly editions must contain no less than 70% original text. If plagiarism is detected, or if technical methods are used to conceal its presence, the articles will not be considered for further review. Full responsibility for the ethical integrity of manuscripts lies with the authors.

A violation of the principle of academic integrity includes the use of artificial intelligence technologies without a citation indicating the name, developer (rights holder), version, and the date of access and/or use.

When artificial intelligence technologies are used in preparing the manuscript, the scientific results, statements, recommendations, and conclusions must be formulated independently by the author.

The use of technical tools and methods, including artificial intelligence technologies, for the purpose of reducing or eliminating the possibility of detecting plagiarism is not allowed.
